Our History

Helix is a brand of the Fröhlich Plastics Group, a corporate group that has been one of the leading manufacturers of plastic products for industry and trade in premium quality for 100 years.

1929

Origin in the porcelain industry with company founder Hugo Fröhlich in Thuringia.

1929

Hugo Fröhlich founded the trading company C. Fröhlich KG with his two sons, Curt and Arco. The expansion closure was developed from porcelain.

1947

The shortage of raw materials prompted Curt Fröhlich to develop new ideas. Items for kitchen and bathroom were produced and distributed using various materials.

1950

First closure for hot water bottles made from Bakelite, presented at the Leipzig Trade Fair.

1954

The Fröhlich family moved from Thuringia to Bad Lauterberg to avoid expropriation.

1957

Herbert Fröhlich took over his father's work after his sudden death. At this time, the thermoplastic 'Hostalen' was developed and processed using injection molding in Bad Lauterberg. The first injection molding machine was purchased.

1966

Establishment of an in-house tool shop for the production of injection molds.

1991

The Thuringian VEB company 'KALI-Industrie' became the subsidiary in Sollstedt.

2004

Opening of the Czech location focusing on container production.

2017

Acquisition of the caps production in the Czech Republic.

2019

Relocation of caps production to fully automated processes in Sollstedt.
